Why join us?

The Association of British Neurologists offers support, training, development and networking opportunities to neurologists in the UK and Ireland.   The following membership categories and benefits are available (click on the links immediately below for membership application forms):

Ordinary            Associate               Affiliate               Overseas                  Junior            Student       Less than full time workers

At the Annual General Meeting on 21 May 2015, members voted that £25 of each Ordinary member's annual payment and £5 of each Associate or Affiliate member's payment should be treated as a voluntary donation to the ABN Clinical Research Training Fellowship (CRTF) fund.

Ordinary Membership (£260 pa)

£235 pa + £25 voluntary donation to CRTF

Open to those appointed to consultant posts, or equivalent, in the neurological sciences, and others who have contributed significantly to the discipline in the United Kingdom and Ireland (apply).

Associate Membership (£100 pa)

£95 pa + £5 voluntary donation to CRTF

Open to all specialty registrars and others pursuing clinical practice or research in clinical neurology or related disciplines within the United Kingdom and Ireland (apply).

Affiliate Membership (£100 pa)

£95 pa + £5 voluntary donation to CRTF

Open to general practitioners with a special interest in neurology and associate specialists/staff grades in Neurology (apply). 

Junior Membership (£40 pa)

Open to Junior hospital doctors who are not neurology specialist trainees (apply). 

Overseas Membership (£40 pa)

Open to consultant neurologists residing overseas (apply).

Senior Membership (no fee)

Ordinary members on reaching NHS retirement age or on prior retirement from hospital appointment, from academic appointment, or from the practice of clinical neurology may apply to become Senior Members.

Student Membership (£12pa)

Undergraduate medical students may apply to become student members (apply).
