On behalf of the ABN scientific programme planning committee and Council, I am sorry to advise you of our decision to postpone the ABN Annual Meeting in Bournemouth from 13-15 May to 15-16 October 2020; this will replace the planned one day meeting in London on 15th October.
This decision has been taken after careful analysis of all factors impacting upon the meeting in light of the spread of Covid 19. We acknowledge the WHO statement regarding the role of robust containment and control activities in slowing the spread of this virus. We know that many hospitals and universities have already asked employees to reduce travel and we believe that the risks of bringing together 700+ medical professionals in early May are too great.
We are sharing this decision now with all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and other supporters as we know many people need to make decisions regarding travel, preparation of talks, stands, symposia and more. We are working to revise our proposed programme and will be in touch with more information for speakers, sponsors and exhibitors as soon as this has been confirmed. Existing delegate registrations may be transferred to the new meeting or refunded.
We are sorry that the meeting will not go ahead as planned in May but we hope that many of you will be able to join us in Bournemouth on 15-16 October 2020. In the meantime, we thank you very much for your understanding and patience.
