The ABN is one of several organisations supporting a programme run by Ian Galea (Southampton), Rachel Kneen (Liverpool), Benedict Michael (Liverpool), Sarah Pett (UCL), and Rhys Thomas (Newcastle). The programme seeks cases of neurological and psychiatric syndromes associated with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection.
No patient identifiable details will be needed. The Health Research Authority have reviewed and approved the collection of these data for health surveillance. Notification does not preclude the patient being enrolled in COVID-19 clinical trials or the case being written up by local teams. All clinicians notifying us of a case are key contributors to CoroNerve and will be considered co-authors for our main data papers.
Notification needs very few details - primarily the patient’s COVID19 status and the broad classification of the clinical episode.
Please keep your own record. Before you click 'Submit', please print the completed page and keep it alongside a note of the patient’s medical record number, so that you can provide more details when the ABN team contacts you. We will send out a link to the more detailed clinical record form for you to complete later. We will remind members about this form via our RADAR emails until there’s no need for continued surveillance.
