Dear colleagues We now know that the risk of complicated COVID-19 infection is increased in certain groups, including those over 70 years, with long-term conditions or a weakened immune system. These risk factors are found in many of our patients. In co-operation with the Royal College of Physicians, and the Chief Medical Officer's team, the ABN has produced guidance on the risks from a variety of conditions and treatments. This document can be used to identify those at high, medium or low risk of complications from COVID-19 infection. The recommendation from the Chief Medical Officer is that high risk patients self-isolate for 3 months.
