Give in Memoriam
A gift in Memoriam is a powerful way to remember a loved one. The ABN fellowship fund has already benefited from the generosity of ABN members and their patients’ families who chose to request that friends and family make a donation in lieu of giving flowers at a funeral or memorial service.
The ABN In Memoriam book is used to record all such gifts providing a permanent record of each individual and all donations in their name.

Leave a legacy
Your will says what will happen to your money, property and possessions after you die. Your donation will either:
- be taken off the value of your estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated
- reduce your Inheritance Tax rate, if more than 10% of your estate is left to charity
Leaving a gift to the ABN fellowship fund in a will allows the ABN to support development of the next generation of neurologists, training them in research and discovery, enabling them to develop new ideas and treatments for patients, their carers and families.
When I recently renewed my will, I named the ABN Fellowship Scheme among the charities to receive 10% of my estate; the current rules means that this substantial gift hardly changes what is left for my family.
Phil Smith, ABN President 2015-2017
