To make a nomination

Nominations may be made on behalf of any individual, not just current members. However current Executive officers and council members are ineligible.
Nominations will be open all year, but the ABN Honours committee considers nominations in spring and makes a recommendation for awardees to Council in April each year. Therefore, nominations need to be received by the end of March to be considered
for the current year.
We recognise that the assessment of distinction and contribution is subjective. In support of a fair, transparent and systematic approach, the Honours Committee will make the appropriate assessment solely in context of information provided via
the nominations form below.
Please ensure when completing the form:
- Proposing member: should be an Ordinary, Senior or Honorary member of the Association
- The form should be completed clearly, in full, and according to the instructions
- All information relevant to the nomination should be included on the form. No supplementary documentation will be considered.
- The form should provide explicit evidence of how the nominee meets the criteria of distinction and how their work has impacted the advancement of neurology and of the ABN.
We are committed to equality and diversity and encourage expressions of interest from all communities and backgrounds. As such, applications are particularly welcome on behalf of those traditionally under-represented.
The ABN President will write to both the successful nominees and their proposers and to the proposers of unsuccessful nominees in May, before the AGM. In the case that a nomination is not recommended to Council for award, only the proposer will
be notified.
The number of Honorary members and of Honorary Overseas members are each limited to 10% of the current Ordinary membership. The total number of Honorary members elected in a given year is unlikely to exceed three.
