Updated ABN Guidance on Valproate prescribing following MHRA decision

After much discussion, the MHRA have decided not to proceed with the previously proposed Phase 2 of the Valproate regulations; this means that men who are currently taking VPA will not require specialist review and signature by two specialists. The MHRA advice for men still stands as do the regulations for women already on valproate, and men or women starting valproate. The MHRA have published three infographics to guide decision making.  We have updated the ABN Valproate advice in line with this new announcement: Prescribing in Adult Neurology and Prescribing in adult men.
