Aisling Carr

Dr Aisling Carr is a consultant neurologist in the centre for neuromuscular diseases, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery London. She graduated with honors from Trinity College Dublin in 2003 and completed post-graduate medical and
specialty neurology training in Northern Ireland. During this time she developed a sub-specialty interest in neuromuscular disease and clinical neuroimmunology through a Masters in myology in the Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris and PhD in myasthenia
between Queens university Belfast and the university of Oxford. She was appointed as a consultant in 2015 and co-runs the inflammatory neuropathy service and leads the Pan-London immuno-oncology (IO) neurotoxicity service. She chairs the national
IO- neurotoxicity service and is the neurologist on the national HLH (hemophagocytic lymphohistoiocytosis) advisory group. Her clinical research interests span clinical neuroimmunology and more recently are focused on neurotoxicity of novel
anti-cancer drugs.
She oversees the ABN endorsed advanced clinical fellowship trainees in neuromuscular diseases, with 3 successful completions since their creation in 2023, and 3 more in progress. She contributes to under and postgraduate neurology teaching and
cross-specialty education in neuroimmunology and neurotoxicity.
