Liz Coulthard

Liz Coulthard is professor of cognitive neurology at the University of Bristol. After preclinical study in Oxford, she trained clinically in London, Newcastle and Bristol and her PhD was at University College London. She leads the multidisciplinary
ReMemBR research group (Research into Memory, the Brain and Dementia) and runs cognitive disorders and brain health clinics where she routinely uses early diagnostic biomarkers. She investigates sleep, long-term memory and early diagnosis
of Alzheimer’s and Lewy body diseases, aiming to develop and test sleep interventions to slow progression of disease. She is associate editor for dementia for the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, and served on the Medical
Research Council doctoral training fellowship panel for 4 years.
